First of all i would like to say this DVD has it all: it's funny, entertaining and sleazy. You guys really know how to shake it or, better said, wiggle it. Peter, i believe that you are the rebel child of this band. I do somehow have an observation: I would love it, if on further products like this you could add a subtitle because not everybody knows swedish or finnish. All in all i loved this product! Keep on sleazing!

So.. the year was 2007, for about one year and a half ago Crashdïet had lost its leadsinger n' guitarist, their main songwriter n' founder - Dave Lepard. Now they were back on trakk with a new singer, a new sound and a new album, to prove to the world they still knew how to play rock n' roll. The new vocalist was the H. Olliver Twisted, a hard(ly) rockin' guy from Finland who played in another band at the same time (Reckless Love). Now, in 2010, we all know that Olli now only sings in Reckless Love because he were not giving 100% in Crashdïet and he oftenly seemed to be unjustified. You can hear that on The Unattractive Revolution, and unlike Dave and Simon (who replaced Olli) he didn't write his own lyrics (or am I wrong there?), which makes it sound like he sings some of the songs without any feelings. But the album has a couple of highlights; "In the Raw", "Falling Rain" and "XTC Overdrive", who had the same class as the songs on Rest In Sleaze and Generation Wild. However, the weaker songs on The Unattractive Revolution are a bit boring. Some of the songs; "I Don't Care" and "Alone" features Mötley Crüe guitarist Mick Mars, and to be honest.. he made som cool guitar solos, but that doesn't make the songs much better. What I really like with this album is the drums, espacially in "In the Raw" the drums sound really fat. But most of the songs on "T.U.R" misses the charm and hunger Crashdïet had 2005 on Rest In Sleaze. To summarize The Unattractive Revolution; In the Raw, Falling Rain and XTC Overdrive are awesome songs, but the rest of the album is somewhere between okay and good.

This single (or is it an EP?) was included in Sweden Rock Magazine #69 for those who were subscribing, and I have never been happier as a subscriber when I got this Crashdïet cd and also a magazine with Simon on the cover! not to forget, there were like 10 pages with Crashdïet in SRM! So as soon as I got this I put the cd in my stereo on repeat while reading SRM #69. It took me a while before I could tell what I really felt about these 3 songs. As with the Generation Wild album, I didn't like the front cover, but the back and the booklet looked way better. It was quite obvious that Johnny Gunn from Peep Show had been co-wroting One of a Kind and Fear Control with the Dïetïsts, on the album it turned out really good but on this single/EP it was "only" good. Right from the beginning I felt that Generation Wild, with it's catchy chorus n' distorted guitar-playing, was a typical single. After the first listening it was stuck in my head. But Fear Control and One of a Kind wasn't as good as Generation Wild, they were both great songs but they sounded like they missed "it". However, I gotta say that the "stick" and the solo in One of a Kind (2:40-3:30) is amazing! but now that I have the Generation Wild album I was like "wait a minute!" 2:40-3:07 in One of a Kind sounds just like the intro and the bridge in Chemical.. Unintentional or not? Who knows..

This album is really awesome, so far the best album of 2010, and in a couple of years people will see this album as a classic. Generation Wild has everything that The Unattractive Revolution didn't have. The songs are more powerful and most of them are catchier, and the album doesn't only contain songs written by Martin Sweet, (as 90% of the songs from T.U.R did). Most of the music is still written by Martin Sweet though, and most of the lyrics are written by Simon "the new singer" Cruz (as he's been anounced as the singer of Crashdïet for over a year ago I don't count him as that new). But songs as Down With The Dust and Bound to Fall are written by Eric Young and Peter London. Except for bandmembers there's a couple of songs (So Alive, Save Her, Chemical) co-written with Peep-Show singer Johnny Gunn, and his lyrics in Save Her is probably the best lyrics on the album, although the lyrics in Rebel kicks a lot of asses. And the title track "Generation Wild" is a typical hit-song abouth the social torture one has to live with just because you don't fit in with society's thoughts of how a person should be, (kinda like Youth Gone Wild - Skid Row 89'). All the bandmembers co-wrote the title-track with RamPac. The album is similar to Rest in Sleaze and in my eyes this is the true follow-up album. As said in so many reviews before; this is the third album with the third singer, and probably the last chance for the Dïet to make it. And since "T.U.R" was released in autumn 2007, and Generation Wild was released spring 2010 there was 2,5 years between the albums. Expectations were really high and the album was well worth waiting for. Generation Wild shows the many sides of Crashdïet, with songs as Rebel and Native Nature you get to hear the more angry side of the band, they both have a raw and sleazy touch, many people has compared Native Nature with 89'-91' Skid Row, and they're actually quite similar. This DVD is amazing! i couldnt stop watching it the first month i got it! it shows you alot of footage from when olliver was in the band...its good trust me! if youre thinking of buying it just do it..its worth it...bonus footage is good too ! A++
